Facing shortfalls in expanding access to safe water and sanitation, which contribute to the persistence of endemic diseases such as cholera and malaria, the Government of Senegal has developed the Water Supply and Sanitation Millennium (PEPAM) which was launched in 2005 and whose implementation should be completed in 2015. Non-state actors are playing a crucial role in this process and in this perspective, CONGAD and a collective network have established a national steering committee.
